Admission Factors

The following transfer admission factors are considered in the review of transfer applications:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 with a preferred minimum cumulative GPA of 2.80.
  • Grade patterns over time, including overall GPA, term GPA, and number of withdrawals.
  • Presence of any major-related courses and grades in those courses.
  • An especially challenging pattern of coursework.
  • If fewer than 26 college credits completed at the time of application CDes will also review high school record and test scores.
  • Quality of application supplement and fit for the major.
  • If the major you want is offered the term for which you are applying.
  • Space in the major. Note: some majors are more competitive than others.
  • Retail Merchandising and Pre Architecture Applicants: Students applying for either major are strongly encouraged to pass the math class required in the major before applying for admission. Retail Merchandising requires college algebra in the major and Pre Architecture requires college calculus in the major.
  • If your application became complete after the priority deadline, admission is based on space left in the major, if any.
